Two Powerful Phrases for Positive People

by Syafiq Azhari

"I'm Wrong"

"I'm Sorry"

Wrong are inevitable and most people are always find ways to defend or rationalize themselves rather than admitting that they are wrong. It is rare to hear the words like, “Yes, I’m wrong. You are right, I admit it” or “I’m sorry, that was my fault”, and it’s just because of our egos and prides.

However, these two simple phrases, “I’m Wrong” and “I’m Sorry”, are actually stood as the symbols of maturity. We are matured enough to accept our mistakes and openly address to other people that we apologize.

Sometimes, when we are totally wrong, we just have to adjust our thinking by accepting our mistakes and considering how we can best settle things with others. We are not perfectionists, nor are we intended to be.

This type of people face the need to be perfect in everything they do. But, who could ever live up to such expectations? Saying that “I’m Wrong”, will wash away the pain of a strained relationship or even turn enemies into friends.

On the other hand, the ability to express “I’m Sorry” shows that we are able to see through other’s perspective or that we still want to maintain a relationship. It shows that we are not too stubborn to reach out and see the positive sides in others.

I’m not denying the fact that it’s hard to be wrong. Harder still to surrender and admit to someone that you are wrong and sorry for particular reasons.

However, saying these two simple phrases with your whole heart is actually a part of learning process, when you start to consider others’ views and try to adapt positively.

This is actually a noble act as you humble yourself for the sake of others feelings and also as a sign that you are maturing yourself.

So, from now on, don’t hesitate to say that “I’m Wrong” and therefore “I’m Sorry”. Put aside your position, or your status and let’s instill the sense of harmony in our daily life.

“Sometimes, I’m wrong enough not to say that I’m sorry”

Think about it….

Those of you who are affluent and rich should not make oaths that they will not give [anything] to their relatives, the very poor, and those who have migrated in the way of Allah. Rather, they should pardon and overlook. Wouldn’t you love Allah to forgive you? Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

actually, it's not only you..some people also face the same problem..n to be honest, i'm one of those people before..i'm not a counsellor or adviser..but believe me..once you express those words to ur parents, u wont be shy anymore to say them for the second time..it's not as daunting as u ever think..in fact, ur parents will be much more happier to see their daughter is open to accept mistakes or express appreciation..try and feel the difference..^_^

curious with patrick..

who is patrick? the only thing i know is patrick in spongebob. even i rarely watch it but at home my sis have one. the pinky and funny one.

true as future murabbi said.

feel so shy to ask forgiveness.

but once you done it, you feel better.

maybe if u feel to shy, u dont need to say it face-to-face. perhaps by sms it can be done.

sometimes it is hard to express it. then we can try to express it another way around.

deep inside my heart, i also feel the same as u.

and it is true when sometimes it is hard to break down the ego and pride in ourselves.

when i teach those kids, (standard one especially), they easily can salam and mintak maaf. even it is hard to do. these kids reminds me to the fitrah of manusia which is already good.

sometimes, kids are naive. but it is good to be naive sometimes.

Syafiq Azhari said...

owh..just ignore the patrick..

yup..you got it right.."it is good to be naive"...

sometimes, we'll be able to learn things only by being naive..

because we won't be shy or negative to accept useful lesson that seems 'stupid' from others' views..
